gus THE tank maximus “mOOMER”

2024

"You were ready, but our hearts were not!"
wE made the hardest decision on MAY 28, 2024. We helped our amazing boy Gus the Tank Maximus aka Moomer cross the Rainbow Bridge. He went quickly and peacefully outside by his pool with both of us holding him. We're very grateful to Dr. Allison and her husband for their support and care in this difficult decision and process. We know we made the right decision, but the hole in our hearts is huge!
We were blessed with 11.5 years of unconditional love, adventures, snuffle kisses and so much more! We met Gus when he was just 6 weeks old, and we had an instant and awesome connection! He had so many nicknames, and answered to all of them...Moo, Moomer, Gussy, Buggles, Sugar Bear, and many other wild and crazy names Dawne would come up with. She even made up a song for him and his "little" sister Shelby.
We filled his last day with lots of home cooked food, treats, chill time with all of us, and took him out into his pool in a pool float we bought especially for him. We've told HIS LITTLE BROTHER Thor it's now his job to become a water baby like his brother was.
PHIL said "out of the 4 Boxers I've owned in my life, Gus will always be the King, and Master Companion."
He taught us so much about unconditional LOVE AND was spoiled rotten his entire life! He knew just when we needed that extra cuddle or kiss. We have thousands of photos of our boy, and even more memories. Gussy was loved by so many, and we are ever grateful to have been his human dad and momma! Rest easy our sweet boy, we'll see you again one day soon!
