darla
2010 - 2026
Darla was a beloved pitTIE and an unforgettable member of our family. SHE believed strongly in togetherness — especially the kind that involved laying directly on top of the people she loved. Personal space was optional in her world, and if you sat down, she considered that an invitation. Being close wasn’t just her preference; it was her purpose.
She was affectionate, loyal, and delightfully assertive. Darla always knew what she wanted and made sure everyone else knew it too. Whether it was more attention, a better spot on the couch, or a snack she was certain should be shared, she was confident, determined, and rarely wrong.
Darla loved belly rubs, rolling around on her back in the grass, and chasing bubbles through the yard like they were her personal mission. She found joy in the simple things and had a talent for turning ordinary days into ones worth remembering.
In her final moments, Darla was surrounded by love and comfort. She enjoyed her favorite treats, felt familiar hands holding her close, and drifted peacefully to sleep, safe and deeply loved.
Darla leaves behind a family who adored her, a younger companion who misses her terribly, and a home that feels quieter without her presence — and a little emptier without her insisting on sitting right on top of us.
